Upham

During WW2, rugged kiwi bloke, Charlie Upham, is awarded the Victoria Cross for his valour in defeat and spends the rest of the war obsessed with earning a medal he doesn’t think he deserved.

Charlie is a feature film based on the true story of Captain Charles Upham. Considered by many to be one of the bravest men in World War II, Charles is the only combatant soldier to have received the Victoria Cross and Bar (awarded to members of the armed forces of the Commonwealth for exceptional bravery), in Crete in May 1941 and the Western Desert in July 1942.
