Gaysorn Thavat is a New Zealand based director who began in the camera de-partment in 1994 and moved into directing TV commercials in 2004. In 2009 she directed her first NZFC short film Brave Donkey that screened in Mel-bourne, London BFI, SXSW, Locarno plus numerous other festivals. Gaysorn was selected to attend the MIFF Accelerator course that year. Actor Cameron Rhodes was awarded Best Actor at Show Me Shorts. Gaysorn is DEGNZ and DGA working across the US, Australasia and Europe. Gaysorn is currently part of the Film Up mentoring program with Ray Lawrence as her mentor.
